Life of a Student Part 6

Ladies and Gentleman,

Let me give you a preview of a question from a University's Quiz Paper!

1) Which of the following cities has not imposed a congestion tax on cars entering the central city?
a) New York City
b) London
c) Singapore
d) None of the Above

2) MRT is usually featured with exclusive right of way. (True/False)

3) In the US, racial segregation had been getting worse between 1980 and 2000. (True/False)

God! What is that man? Does it even test on our knowledge in Urban Economics? And does these questions value add to me as a university student? I bet they don't and this is a negative externality on me as a student studying at University level. Come on.. We expect more and these questions are more factual than application and it does not even need me to use my god-given brain to think at all. No wonder we are always thought to be unable to think. It is a social construct that we are socialised to be so. Just eat your textbook and you will excel in life. Boo-Hoo!

Teach me something useful and test me on that please. Not on some things that can be done by someone who memorises the facts. Application and critical thinking questions are appreciated.
